General Information
Profile of the expert
I hold a doctorate in Plant Biotechnology (2019) majoring in plant genetic engineering, molecular biology techniques and lab/environmental Biosafety. I also received extensive biosafety training under the “GMASSURE Biosafety capacity building initiative in SADC region series of workshops (2015). These series of workshops focused on appropriate Biosafety assessments in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security, food safety training with particular applications to GMOs, science communication and Omics applications in Biosafety. I also received hands-on training in recombinant protein manufacturing, with particular emphasis on recombinant antibody design, production, isolation/purification, formulation and associated Risk Assessment and management at lab and factory levels. This training was conducted by KBIO-Health at Osong Medical Innovation Center, South Korea (2024 - 2025). I currently serve as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe teaching molecular biology, plant genetic engineering and Biosafety related courses. In addition, l also teach courses in Biosafety, Bioethics and Biopolicy.
